Invictus [F1] Round 2: Monaco Grand Prix - 12th April 2017

IRL F1 World Championship
Round 2
Monaco Grand Prix







IRL travels to Monaco for round two! with the track being notorious for a lack of overtaking, qualifying will be more important than at Bahrain. Who has the bottle and skill to master the streets of Monte Carlo and storm to pole on Wednesday!? Who will be the first to hit the wall given that every corner is just as likely to catch you off guard!

What are your aims this season personally and more importantly for the league? I just want to have some fun.

How will you fare at Monaco? - I honestly don't know. It's a track I love but I always attack it so it might not end up well. I'll either end up in the wall or somewhere near the front.

Tell us a bit about yourself? - I'm fairly decent at Rocket League. I'm okay at F1 games sometimes. I'm studying computer games programming at the Uni of Glos.

Favourite Song? - Idk. The Chainsmokers album that came out last night is quality.

To help the site grow and hopefully attract more like-minded individuals to the league.
How will you fare at Monaco?
Hopefully just survive the track.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm 36, I have 2 sons and am a person-centred counsellor. I've competed in online racing leagues for almost 3 years and I'm looking forward to help create this racing site.
Favourite Song?
At the moment it's Foo Fighters The Best of You.

I was pretty happy with my qualifying lap but Malc just pipped me to pole. At the start of the race it took my quite a few laps to get into a rhythm and in that time I racked up quite a few warnings and a penalty. In the first 5 laps or so Malc managed to pull a gap to me. Once I got into my rhythm I started to close it a little bit but then Malc opened up the gap again. On lap 13 I knew I was going to have to try something different to win this race. So, I pitted that lap and went onto softs (I wanted to go onto supersofts but oh well). Over the next 6 or so laps I chucked it up to rich and just went for it. By the time Malc had come out of the pit I was already 5 seconds ahead. Over the next 5 laps Malc reeled me in again and then he was right behind me. I knew the only way I could win the race was by letting Malc get close to me and then to try and frustrate him in the hope he makes a mistake and breaks his wing as I had a few penalties. This plan worked perfectly. Malc broke part of his front wing and started to lose lots of time. I then created a 7 second gap and this would have been enough to win the race. However, with a few laps to go my mum decided to come into my room and I looked away from my screen and crashed. I lost part of my front wing and got a puncture. Malc then went on to win the race.

Well done on the Win Malc and Nitrogash on the podium.
